SERPanywhere has no accounts and never sees what you search for. It uses Google Analytics to count visits, and nothing is stored on your device for that until you accept it.
The tool itself is one HTML file that runs entirely in your browser. Building the search URL, the location list and every option happen on your own machine. Your search terms are never sent to us, logged by us, or included in anything we measure, because the part of the page that handles them makes no requests at all.
The page loads Google Tag Manager, which in turn runs Google Analytics 4. This counts visits and tell us roughly how many people use the tool and which pages and tells us roughly how many people use the tool and which pages they land on. It exists so we can tell whether the thing is worth continuing to maintain.
Analytics runs in Google’s consent mode with everything switched off by default. No analytics cookie is written unless you press Accept. If you decline, or simply ignore the bar, the tags stay switched off.
The advertising categories stay denied permanently, whatever you choose. This site carries no advertising, so there is nothing to grant and no ad profile is built from your visit.
It does not collect your name, your email, your search terms, or anything you type into the tool. Google acts as a data processor for this, and the data sits in a Google Analytics property that only we can read.
adtester.v6 holds your form settings: engine, device, location,
language, domain, page number and which options are ticked.adtester.showparams records whether parameter names are shown
beside each option.sa.consent records whether you accepted or declined analytics,
so the bar does not ask again._ga cookies. The first three are local storage rather than cookies, they never leave your device, and pressing Reset in the tool clears the first two.
Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes the record of your choice along with any analytics cookie, and the bar will ask again next time. Browser settings that block cookies or third-party scripts will also stop analytics loading, and the tool works exactly the same either way.
Clicking the search button opens Google or Bing in a new tab. From that moment you are on their website and their privacy policy applies, not this one. They will see your IP address and whatever else they normally collect. That visit is separate from this site and is not something we can see or measure.
The page is served by Fasthosts, and like any web server theirs keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses. That is ordinary hosting activity rather than anything this site does deliberately, and those logs are not read, analysed or combined with anything else.
Questions about any of this can go to hello@thepink.agency. The tool is built and maintained by ThePink.Agency.
